While working in the financial services industry, Robert and Diana Carter’s desire to have a much more personal experience for their clients without sacrificing stability, expertise and technology wasn’t found at the companies they worked for; so they decided to start their own.
Since 1992, Summit Mortgage has operated under the philosophy of putting people first. Although the company has grown into a premier national lender, the promise the Carter’s made to their customers on day one still exists. As CEO Robert Carter puts it, “Our job is to help people get the best home loan possible, at a competitive price, while taking care of them as if they were a member of our own family.”
This simple yet vital core value isn’t limited to customers only. Helping people is a part of our family culture that extends to our employees and our communities. Today, Summit Mortgage still operates as a privately-owned, direct seller to agencies as well as a correspondent to multiple investors.
